Each year HAT collects data on the community benefit plans and activities of our member hospitals. This information is compiled into a Community Benefit Report used by HAT in legislative and public relations efforts on behalf of Tennessee's not-for-profit hospitals. This is one of the tools we use to promote the value and benefit of not-for-profit hospitals as health care providers and resources in their communities. This information is an important resource for HAT's ongoing community education campaign. It is of critical importance for legislators, the media and community leaders to recognize all the services our not-for-profit hospitals provide their communities. During these difficult times, it is important to specifically identify how our members make a positive difference for our citizens.
